This is one of the talisman series of special stones with a story to tell, paired with a special animal, combined by a new bail type. All are 2020 creations.
This piece has a stunning cabochon of poppy jasper, with poppies of pink and red from the overhead view of the butterflies. The stone is paired with a coral pink tourmaline, which accents the beautiful "poppies" in the stone.
A hand-forged poppy blossom has been finished with dozens of tiny stamens, which are made from snippets of extra sterling that has been balled up with my torch.
The butterfly is strongly significant to the pendant, with the embossing of a ginkgo leaf on the front and back of the backplate, which emulates a butterfly wing.
On the back, a butterfly is cut out of the sterling, wings spread to show off the back of the cabochon's poppies. The bail also has a nod to the butterfly, with my new to 2020 antennae bail, which identifies it to my 2020 creative time. A very special piece.
